Anna is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, licensed by the University of the State of New York Education Department to provide mental health counseling services. She has a B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She is also a member of the American Counseling Association, and Psi Chi - the National Honor Society in Psychology.
Anna has been in the Mental Health field since 2007. Although she incorporates a variety of techniques into the therapeutic process depending on each client's unique needs, her core theoretical orientation is Person Centered Therapy. Person Centered Therapy focuses on the constructive side of human nature, on what is right with the individual, and on the assets her clients bring to therapy. Anna encourages her clients to make changes that will lead to living fully and authentically, with the realization that self-actualization is a continuous process.
When Anna is not at work, she enjoys hiking in the Adirondacks, Vermont, and New Hampshire. She is an ADK 46er, and hopes to finish her W46er during the 2017-2018 winter season. She is 19/48 in the Whites. Anna also enjoys yoga, kayaking, fishing, and runs during the cooler months. She is a firm believer in self-care and balancing mind and body to promote optimal well-being.
